F.P. Journe

Francois-Paul Journe, widely regarded as one of the best living watchmakers, advances horology with each new invention. The tourbillon was the beginning of it all for F.P. Journe. Journe’s arduous five-year process of creating his own tourbillon pocket watch, which was inspired by Breguet’s distinctive trademark, marked the beginning of the watchmaker’s now-famous work. Years later, his skill and artistry have solidified both his place in horological history and the reputation of his namesake brand among collectors.

Journe has produced a number of significant timepieces since the introduction of his first watch line in 1999, with the Chronomètre à Résonance being one of the most prominent. Journe is one of a very tiny number of independent watchmakers today that construct resonance watches, in which the two balances oscillate in unison. Resonance watches are incredibly difficult to make and regulate. Every F.P. Journe watch has his famous slogan, “Invenit et Fecit,” which translates to “Invented and made,” and which ensures the same great design and meticulous execution that Journe has pioneered from the very beginning.
