Serena Williams and Audemars Piguet share a decade long relationship

For more than a decade, Serena Williams and Audemars Piguet have shared a relationship rooted in long-term commitment and a mutual belief that time is crafted, not simply measured. Their latest collaboration brings that understanding to life through a dedicated limited edition of the Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 38 mm, a timepiece that reflects Serena’s multifaceted personality.

Time is never crafted alone

In this new expression of the partnership, Serena is joined by Teyana Taylor and J Balvin, each exploring their individual journeys and the people who have supported, challenged and shaped them along the way. The campaign looks beyond personal achievement to celebrate the relationships and communities that make evolution possible.

The limited edition combines the collection’s sporty character with its enduring sophistication

For Serena, the new watch is also an expression of the many sides of her identity. As she explains: “Working with Audemars Piguet on this watch has been special because it reflects so many parts of who I am. I’ve always believed that strength and feminine energy can exist side by side. People often see strength, determination and competition, but there’s also creativity, intuition and joy.”

Balancing performance and elegance

Measuring 38 mm, the timepiece is crafted in white ceramic across both the case and integrated bracelet. Its surfaces are meticulously hand-finished, alternating satin-brushing and chamfering to highlight the Royal Oak’s distinctive architecture.

The watch’s defining visual feature is its pink-tinted mother-of-pearl dial

The watch’s defining visual feature is its pink-tinted mother-of-pearl dial, whose soft iridescence introduces depth and nuance. Symbolising feminine energy, intuition and inner strength, the dial creates a thoughtful contrast with the robustness of the ceramic case. Tone-on-tone counters maintain the dial’s harmonious palette, while 18-carat white gold hands and rhodium-toned 18-carat pink gold hour-markers, filled with luminescent material, ensure legibility. A polished inner bezel completes the composition.

The integrated white ceramic bracelet is secured by an Audemars Piguet folding clasp

The integrated white ceramic bracelet is secured by an Audemars Piguet folding clasp and is accompanied by an additional pink rubber strap. The alternative strap features white ceramic studs and a titanium AP folding clasp, offering a sportier interpretation of the watch’s elegant character.

A new calibre of connection

At the heart of the timepiece is Calibre 6401, an entirely in-house-developed, new-generation integrated chronograph movement. Continuing Audemars Piguet’s tradition of sporty complications, the calibre has been conceived around precision, ergonomics and long-term performance, while responding to contemporary expectations. Its patented vertical-clutch system has been simplified to reduce the number of components, enabling smoother chronograph activation and enhanced reliability. The redesigned movement layout also prioritises legibility, with the hour and minute counters positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock, respectively, while the instant-jump date sits between 4 and 5 o’clock.

A titanium frame engraved with “Limited Edition” adds a final detail to the watch’s identity. With this Royal Oak limited edition, Audemars Piguet and Serena Williams translate a shared history into a watch that balances technical sophistication, expressive design and personal meaning, a timepiece shaped not only by performance, but by the many dimensions of the woman wearing it.
