A Landmark Win for Indian Horology

India Watch Weekend: Bangalore Watch Days, held from 7th to 9th August 2026 at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bengaluru, has won the Golden Star Award for Excellence in Mall IP Innovation. The recognition marks a significant milestone, not just for the event itself, but for the broader movement to build a dedicated watch culture in India. Curated by The Hour Markers in partnership with Phoenix Mall of Asia, the three-day festival brought together 10+ leading watch brands and welcomed over 2,70,000 attendees, generating 14.4 million+ in digital reach. It was designed to go beyond a traditional retail exhibition, combining brand showcases, watchmaking masterclasses, collector experiences and curated activations into a single, immersive celebration of fine watchmaking. The scale and ambition of the event would not have been possible without Phoenix Mall of Asia's commitment to bringing an entirely new kind of luxury experience to Bengaluru.

What Are the Golden Star Awards?

The Golden Star Awards for Corporate Leadership, Six Sigma and Institutional Excellence have, over time, become a recognised benchmark of excellence, both locally and globally. Their purpose is to create healthy competition that raises overall industry standards and recognises the achievements of the best-performing organisations. The awards draw around 500 applications each year across sectors - public, private, non-profit, government, business, manufacturing, education, banking, insurance and services. What sets them apart is a transparent, internationally recognised evaluation process; even the process of preparing the self-appraisal report is designed to align and inspire an organisation's workforce, accelerating the pace of systems improvement. Awards are given annually and are structured to encourage all-round improvement across every sector of business. Why India Watch Weekend: Bangalore Watch Days Won

The Excellence in Mall IP Innovation category recognises retail-led concepts that go beyond conventional mall programming to create a genuinely original, ownable experience. India Watch Weekend: Bangalore Watch Days, curated by The Hour Markers at Phoenix Mall of Asia, stood out for a few clear reasons:

A first-of-its-kind format in India. There was no existing playbook for a dedicated, multi-brand luxury watch festival inside a mall environment - Bangalore Watch Days built one from scratch, with Phoenix Mall of Asia providing the scale and setting to bring the concept to life.

Depth over spectacle. Alongside brand showcases, the festival featured sold-out watchmaking masterclasses, collector meets, and immersive cultural activations, treating the audience as genuine enthusiasts rather than passive shoppers.

Scale and reach. With 10+ brands, 2,70,000+ attendees and 14.4 million+ in digital reach over just three days, India Watch Weekend: Bangalore Watch Days demonstrated that a niche category like fine watchmaking can drive mainstream mall footfall and engagement.

A new gateway for global brands. Several brands with no prior presence in Bengaluru chose Bangalore Watch Days as their official market entry point, positioning Phoenix Mall of Asia as a genuine destination for international luxury horology. Together, these factors made India Watch Weekend: Bangalore Watch Days a standout example of mall IP innovation - proof that a retail space can become a cultural platform when the concept is built with real category expertise and a strong venue partner in Phoenix Mall of Asia.
