A Mad Scientist Gets A New Laboratory: Christophe Claret Gets A Major Reboot
Imagine a mad scientist of micro-mechanics being handed the keys to a brand-new laboratory, an endless playground for his wildest horological dreams, and a permanent excuse to never look at a financial spreadsheet again. That is exactly the spectacular plot twist currently unfolding for legendary Swiss watchmaker Christophe Claret. After navigating a demanding period that ended in insolvency proceedings before the Commercial Court of Neuchâtel, the acclaimed Christophe Claret brand has been rescued and completely rebooted on entirely new legal foundations. This horological rebirth is all thanks to a strategic joint-venture with the Lotus Singapore Group, a foundation-backed investment powerhouse guided by the long-term entrepreneurial vision of the Khetan family.
Escaping the Spreadsheets for Pure Creation
Operating under a freshly minted Swiss company named Lotus Two AG, domiciled in Neuchâtel, the partnership has acquired the brand's name, assets, and intellectual property to set the stage for an ambitious new era. This vital restructuring means the brand's namesake master watchmaker can finally step away from the grueling day-to-day business and financial operations that often bog down independent creators. Instead, Mr. Claret takes his rightful place as the dedicated Creative Force and a member of the six-person Board of Directors, channeling all his energy into inventing jaw-dropping new mechanical complications. Since founding Manufacture Claret in 1989 in the Jura watchmaking heartland of Le Locle, Claret has been turning traditional haute horlogerie on its head. Over the past 35 years, his audacious spirit has produced more than 100 calibers and a staggering 80 World Premieres, including the Westminster Minute Repeater Tourbillon, the Orbital Tourbillon, and musical mechanisms bursting with interactive features.

The Science of Motion and Emotion
Now, with the formidable financial strength, resources, and governance provided by Lotus Singapore, Claret’s singular vision is more secure than ever. Lotus is not looking for a quick marketing win, rather, they are prioritizing stewardship and enduring value, even funneling a substantial proportion of profits into the charitable Khetan Foundation to create a lasting positive impact.

At the core of this monumental relaunch is a philosophy the brand defines as the "Science of Motion"
