The Patek Phillipe Watch Art Grand Exhibition makes a highly anticipated return to Europe, taking place in the heart of Milan, Italy. The event will run from October 2nd through October 18th, 2026, hosted at the historic CityOval building, formerly known as the Palazzo delle Scintille, located at Piazza Sei Febbraio in the CityLife district. Admission to the exhibition remains completely free and open to the public, though reservations are recommended. The venue will welcome guests from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday. Extended hours will run until 10:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, before closing at 8:00 PM on the final day of the event.

Since 2012, Patek Philippe has made a tradition of sharing its passion for fine watchmaking through its "Watch Art" Grand Exhibitions. These massive public events offer a rare, immersive glimpse into the history, philosophy, and expertise of Geneva's last independent, family-owned watch manufacturer. By opening its doors to the public with free admission, the brand encourages a closer acquaintance with the intricate world of horology.

Inside the Patek Philippe Universe

Designed as a deep dive into the Patek Philippe heritage, the Milan exhibition will allow visitors to explore the brand's legacy and craftsmanship through a series of specialised spaces. Guests can view modern timepieces in the Current Collection room and historical artifacts in the Patek Philippe Museum room. The Manufacture room will serve as an educational space revealing the intricate production stages and movements that power the watches. Additionally, dedicated Watchmakers and Rare Handcrafts rooms will feature live demonstrations by master artisans, giving attendees the opportunity to observe precise, traditional watchmaking techniques up close.

A Legacy of Global Exhibitions

The 2026 Milan event builds upon a rich legacy of sharing horological art around the globe. The inaugural "Watch Art" Grand Exhibition took place in Dubai in January 2012, welcoming 3,500 visitors to view 400 exhibits that included antique watches dating back to the sixteenth century. The following year, in October 2013, the first European edition was held in Munich. Titled "KunstWerkUhr," this exhibition drew 22,000 visitors to the Kunsthalle der HypoVereinsbank art gallery to view 474 pieces. By the spring of 2015, the exhibition had travelled to London, where it immersed 42,500 visitors in the world of fine horology at the Saatchi Gallery, complete with a recreation of the famous Geneva Napoleon Salon.

The scale and ambition of these exhibitions have only continued to grow with each iteration. In July 2017, the event arrived in New York at the iconic Cipriani 42nd Street, drawing 27,500 visitors and featuring 450 timepieces, including historic pieces with close ties to the United States. In October 2019, Singapore hosted the exhibition at the Marina Bay Sands Theater, where 68,000 guests explored a space that included an entire room dedicated to South East Asia. Most recently, in June 2023, Patek Philippe orchestrated one of its grandest events to date in Tokyo. Set within a massive 2,500-square-meter space designed to evoke the Geneva harbor, the Tokyo exhibition debuted six limited editions, displayed nearly 500 timepieces, and welcomed over 60,000 guests.
