Seiko celebrates its 145th anniversary with a striking collection of limited-edition timepieces inspired by Edo purple, a traditional Japanese colour that emerged during the Edo period (1603–1868), when the cultural foundations of modern Tokyo were taking shape. The collection pays tribute to the city that has been intertwined with Seiko’s history since Kintaro Hattori opened his watch and clock shop in Tokyo’s Ginza district in 1881. Across the Prospex, Astron, Presage and Seiko 5 Sports collections, deep purple tones are paired with gold-coloured accents, creating a visual language that connects Japan’s cultural heritage with Seiko’s enduring spirit of innovation. From a mechanical Alpinist and solar chronograph to a GPS Solar Astron, a Cocktail Time creation and the revival of an iconic 1980s digital watch, each model reflects a different chapter of Seiko’s watchmaking story while carrying the same anniversary signature.
