Twelve Years of Sound Engineering
First unveiled in 2014, the original Palatial Flying Tourbillon Minute Repeater combined high watchmaking complications with an elegant round design, marking Jacob & Co.’s transition from watches meant strictly to be seen to ones designed to be heard. It went on to sell out completely. Over the subsequent decade, the brand's exploration of sound split into two distinct paths, encompassing chiming watches like the Twin Turbo Furious (2018) and the Astronomia Maestro (2018) with a carillon minute repeater, alongside musical watches equipped with mechanical music boxes beginning with the Opera in 2017. This lineage continued with the iconic Opera Godfather (2019), the Opera Godfather Minute Repeater (2020), and the world's only dual-melody musical timepiece, The Godfather II (2026). The spirit of this entire acoustic evolution flows directly into this latest commemorative release.

Inside Caliber JCCM04: Two Complications, One Movement
The new Palatial Flying Tourbillon Minute Repeater is powered by the newly developed Caliber JCCM04, a hand-wound movement that succeeds the original Caliber JCBM03 with refined assembly and manufacturing. Integrated via a caseband slide, the mechanism chimes hours with a low tone, quarter hours with alternating high and low tones, and remaining minutes with a high tone, utilizing cathedral gongs that extend around the movement to enhance resonance. These gongs are hand-formed, hardened, tuned, and adjusted entirely by ear, while a silent centrifugal governor regulates the cadence of the striking sequence without mechanical interference. Positioned at 6 o'clock, the 60-second flying tourbillon features a newly redesigned architecture. Comprising 308 components and 29 jewels, the movement beats at 3 Hz and delivers a 90-hour power reserve, with the striking mechanism and cathedral gongs remaining visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Design Details Inspired by Sound
The timepiece’s mechanical complexity is mirrored by thoughtful aesthetic cues across the dial. A striking red mineral crystal dial sets the background for applied 18K rose gold hour markers, complemented by a brushed 18K rose gold G clef appliqué positioned at the 9 o'clock mark. Furthermore, the skeletonized hands take their shape from a metronome, serving as a visual nod to the governor keeping tempo over the chime. Encased in an 18K rose gold housing measuring 43mm in diameter and 12.3mm in thickness, the Palatial Flying Tourbillon Minute Repeater offers 30 meters of water resistance alongside a sapphire crystal. At its heart beats the manually wound Jacob & Co. Caliber JCCM04 movement which packs 308 components, 29 jewels, a 21,600 vib/h frequency, and an impressive 90-hour power reserve. The watch features a captivating red mineral dial styled with 18K rose gold applied markers and a brushed G clef, complemented by skeletonized metronome hands. It is completed by an alligator leather strap fastened with an 18K rose gold pin buckle. Strictly limited to just 12 pieces worldwide to honor each year since the original model's debut, this masterpiece is offered at a retail price of USD 390,000.

By bridging its historic 2014 acoustic breakthrough with modern watchmaking refinements, Jacob & Co. has created a fitting tribute to its four decades of innovation. The Palatial Flying Tourbillon Minute Repeater stands as a rare collector's item that harmonizes visual artistry with acoustic mastery. Offering both elite craftsmanship and strict exclusivity with its 12-piece run, it firmly reinforces the Maison’s legacy at the pinnacle of high horology.
