MeisterSinger Unveils the Limited Edition Unitas 1Z Blue with Rare Light Blue Enamel Dial
MeisterSinger, the world’s leading brand for mechanical single-hand watches, has announced the expansion of its celebrated Unitas anniversary edition. Staying true to the brand’s founding philosophy which is that time does not need to be divided into minutes and seconds to be meaningful, MeisterSinger introduces the new Edition Unitas 1Z Blue. The Edition Unitas 1Z was initially introduced to mark the brand's 25th anniversary, paying homage to a significant milestone in MeisterSinger's history: its first enamel edition launched in 2004. Now, this exceptional collection is joined by a second variant that retains the beloved technical and design features of the original, but reimagines them with a striking light blue enamel dial.
A Masterclass in Enamel Craftsmanship
The Edition Unitas 1Z Blue represents a historic first for the Münster-based brand, as it is the first time MeisterSinger has used colored enamel for one of its dials. The light blue face is harmoniously complemented by subtle black, medium blue, and red accents, which create a refined aesthetic. Time is indicated by a meticulously crafted heat-blued steel hand, which exhibits the rich, distinctive blue shade long associated with traditional watchmaking. Creating a genuine enamel dial is a notoriously demanding process mastered by only a select few specialists today. The crafting process involves applying finely ground enamel powder to a copper base, which is then fired in multiple rounds at temperatures reaching approximately 800°C. This intricate process yields a dial of remarkable brilliance, depth, and lasting beauty. However, because even the slightest variation in temperature or firing time can cause the dial to crack or warp, the rejection rate is exceptionally high. Each successfully completed dial stands as a pure testament to patience, precision, and outstanding craftsmanship.

Mechanical Beauty at Its Finest
At the heart of the timepiece is the legendary ETA/Unitas 6497 hand-wound pocket watch movement. Boasting a 46-hour power reserve and operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, the movement marries excellent rate stability with traditional architecture. The generous dimensions of the Unitas movement almost entirely fill the 40 mm stainless steel case, which was developed specifically for this edition. Collectors can admire the visual centerpiece through the large exhibition glass back, revealing elaborate movement finishings that include Geneva stripes, blued screws, and a swan-neck fine adjustment regulator.

Exclusivity and Heritage
Since 2001, the owner-managed family company has been crafting "Swiss made" quality timepieces that invite wearers to experience time in a calmer, more relaxed manner. Inspired by classic measuring instruments, MeisterSinger's minimalist and highly functional designs have garnered over 35 prestigious awards. Created specifically for enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate exceptional mechanical watchmaking, the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue is strictly limited to just 25 pieces worldwide. The watch will be available this September, priced at €6,990.

Ultimately, the MeisterSinger Edition Unitas 1Z Blue is much more than an instrument for telling time, rather, it is a celebration of horological artistry and mindful living. By combining the brand’s signature single-hand philosophy with the incredibly rare craft of colored enamel dial making, MeisterSinger has created a unique masterpiece that stands out in the world of modern watchmaking.
