Who says buying a watch can't change your life? Swiss independent watchmaker NORQAIN has taken inspiration from the classic Golden Ticket story and turned it into a real-world adventure. Hidden among just 500 examples of the new Freedom GMT Enjoy Life "Holiday" Limited Edition is one extraordinary watch that comes with a secret prize a week-long luxury escape for two to the award-winning Ayada Maldives Resort.

Instead of simply launching another colourful GMT, NORQAIN has created an experience. One lucky collector won't just own a limited-edition timepiece; they'll also be packing their bags for six nights in an Ocean Villa surrounded by turquoise waters, white sand beaches and one of the Indian Ocean's most luxurious private island resorts. The winner will receive accommodation on a full-board basis, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the identity of the winning watch remaining a closely guarded secret until September.

A GMT That Celebrates the Joy of Travel

The Freedom GMT Enjoy Life "Holiday" Limited Edition is the latest addition to NORQAIN's increasingly playful Enjoy Life collection, following the hugely successful "Ice Cream" and "Sprinkles" editions. This time, the brand turns its attention to travel, making this the first Enjoy Life model to feature a GMT complication arguably the perfect function for frequent flyers and globe-trotters.

The 40mm stainless steel watch immediately captures attention with its vibrant world map dial, finished in a cheerful gradient of orange, pink and turquoise. Those same colours continue onto the 24-hour GMT ring, mimicking the changing hues of a summer sunrise and sunset. But the fun doesn't stop there.

25 Holiday Icons Hidden Across the Watch

NORQAIN has scattered 25 hand-drawn "Holiday Icons" throughout the dial, date display and GMT scale, giving collectors plenty to discover every time they glance at their wrist. The date window occasionally replaces ordinary numbers with summer-themed surprises including flip-flops, sunglasses, a beach umbrella, swim trunks and even a bikini small reminders to embrace vacation mode.

The GMT scale tells its own holiday story as the day unfolds. Midnight is represented by a crescent moon before giving way to a sleeping icon at 2 a.m. Morning begins with a coffee cup between 8 and 9 a.m., followed by the sun dominating the middle of the day. Then comes everyone's favourite stop a cocktail icon positioned between 4 and 6 p.m. complete with the words "Happy Hour," perfectly capturing those long summer evenings by the beach.

Even the Packaging Is Ready for Take-Off

NORQAIN didn't stop at the watch itself. The Freedom GMT arrives inside a specially designed aluminium travel case that feels more like a premium travel kit than traditional watch packaging. Inside, owners will find a passport holder, a world map insert and a tin filled with destination pins, encouraging collectors to map out countries they've visited—or dream of visiting next. It's a clever extension of the watch's travel-first philosophy and reinforces the idea that this is a companion for adventures rather than just another wristwatch.

Built for Serious Travel

Behind the playful exterior sits a genuinely capable travel watch. The Freedom GMT is powered by the COSC-certified NORQAIN Manufacture Calibre NN20/2, developed with Kenissi. The automatic movement offers a generous 70-hour power reserve and can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback. Its traveller-style GMT function allows the local hour hand to jump forwards or backwards independently in one-hour increments via the crown, making timezone changes quick and effortless while keeping the movement running accurately. The sapphire caseback is engraved with the Enjoy Life logo along with "ONE of 500," highlighting the watch's strictly limited production. Buyers can choose between a stainless steel bracelet or a white rubber strap, while NORQAIN's signature side plate remains available for personal engraving.

After all, not every GMT comes with the chance to take you to paradise.
