For three decades, OMEGA’s relationship with cinema’s most famous secret agent has defined a masterclass in horological storytelling. From the moment a blue-dialed Seamaster slipped beneath a bespoke tuxedo cuff in 1995’s GoldenEye, the Swiss watchmaker has chronicled the cinematic missions of 007 with precision and poise. Yet, every legendary protagonist requires a counterforce. OMEGA is flipping the script with its latest installation. From October 5 to November 8, the OMEGA boutique in Glendale, California, plays host to the “Timeless Adversaries” James Bond and Spectre Exhibition, marking the first time the Swiss marque has dedicated equal space to both sides of the spy thriller coin. A Clash of Archives in Southern California

Open to the public without an appointment, the Glendale exhibition introduces a striking architectural concept inspired by archival storage systems. Visitors stepping into the boutique are greeted by two opposing runs of shelving built to face one another: one dedicated to James Bond, and the other to SPECTRE. Together, the twin archives house more than 20 original props drawn from seven iconic 007 films, spanning from GoldenEye (1995) to No Time to Die (2021). Seldom seen in public, the memorabilia offers a rare tactile glimpse into the cinematic universe. "James Bond first wore an OMEGA in 1995, and for three decades we told the story from James Bond's side," notes Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA. "This time we wanted SPECTRE to have the same space. In Glendale, their two worlds are built as archives facing one another and both lead to one room where the watches are shown together. Everyone has a James Bond and SPECTRE side, and I hope our visitors have as much fun finding theirs as we had building it."

Where Faction Meets Horology

At the conclusion of the opposing archival corridors, both pathways converge into a dedicated watch room where the opposing forces meet on neutral ground. Here, visitors can discover the new James Bond and SPECTRE editions displayed side-by-side, alongside an interactive AI photo booth that invites guests to choose their allegiancing mood, 007 or SPECTRE, for a custom portrait. The centerpiece of the room bridges decades of watchmaking through six historical timepieces specially flown in from the OMEGA Museum in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Tracing Bond’s Seamaster lineage from 2002 to 2015, the curated museum selection features screen-worn icons like the Seamaster Diver 300M of 2006 from Casino Royale and the robust Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M of 2012 from Skyfall, boasting a black ceramic diving bezel, orange detailing, and a visible Co-Axial calibre 8500. Alongside these screen-worn pieces sit four collectable limited series with production runs ending in 007, ranging from the 2002 Seamaster 300M marking 40 years of Bond in Die Another Day, to the Master Co-Axial Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M of 2015 engineered to resist magnetic fields up to 15,007 gauss ahead of SPECTRE.
