Oris Returns With The Aquis Date Kelp Forest Limited Edition
Swiss watchmaker Oris is once again returning to its enduring commitment to protecting marine ecosystems with a striking new launch: the Oris Kelp Forest Limited Edition. Restricted to only 1,000 pieces, this special edition draws on the design of the high-performance Aquis Date 41.50 mm, combining Swiss watchmaking precision with a strong statement about the vital part oceans play in mitigating climate change.
Inspired by the Underwater Wilderness
Although the watch does share its fundamental mechanical base with the standard Aquis Date line, the dial is where the true highlight of the watch lies. To capture the tranquil motion and organic elegance of underwater kelp forests, Oris has employed an inventive 3D-printed surface finish. This unique finish produces a textured green and gold palette that imitates the natural colour shifts and tactile depth of the swaying kelp. Heightening the aquatic illusion, golden outlines on the lumed hands and hour markers catch the light in a dynamic way, giving the dial the appearance of movement as if it were beneath the water.

Performance and Specifications
In keeping with the Aquis heritage, the Kelp Forest Limited Edition is designed as a genuine tool watch while still offering a refined, everyday look. It comes with a multi-piece stainless steel case that measures 41.50 mm in diameter and provides water resistance of up to 30 bar (300 meters). Paired with this is a uni-directional rotating bezel with a green ceramic insert and a minute scale, along with a screw-in security crown that provides sturdy crown protection. The watch is fitted to an elegantly tapered three-link stainless steel bracelet with alternating brushed and polished finishes, and it includes a folding clasp featuring quick-adjustment and quick-change systems. Beneath it, runs the Oris Calibre 733, a Swiss-made automatic three-hand movement with a date function and a 41-hour power reserve, while the solid steel case back displays a custom engraving of a kelp motif together with the unique limited-edition number.
The Oris Kelp Forest Limited Edition is more than just a stunning timepiece; it represents the next chapter in Oris's decades-long commitment to raising awareness for marine protection. By celebrating the vital ecological role of kelp forests, often called the "sequoias of the sea", Oris continues to champion environmental stewardship one watch at a time.
