The Creative Vision

This collaboration merges TAG Heuer's rich racing history, George Bamford's customisation expertise, and the distinctive vision of Mai Ikuzawa. As the Team Principal and Creative Director of Team Ikuzawa, the iconic Japanese racing team founded in 1981, Mai Ikuzawa bridges motorsport, design, fashion, and luxury. Educated at Central Saint Martins, she brings over two decades of experience and a rare perspective to contemporary automotive culture. Working closely with long-time collaborator George Bamford, the duo sought to translate the visual identity of Team Ikuzawa into a watch defined by precision, character, and racing authenticity.

Inspired by a Historic Racing Instrument

The primary muse for this new timepiece is the historic Heuer Roadmaster stopwatch, an instrument celebrated for its bold graphics, high legibility, and functional motorsport character. Ikuzawa and Bamford carefully studied the vintage timing instrument's proportions, graphic codes, and colour accents, reinterpreting them through the refined and contemporary design language of Team Ikuzawa. Design and Technical Specifications

Built upon the 39 mm TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox platform, the watch features a bezel-free glass box construction that creates an uninterrupted view of the dial, prioritizing legibility just as Jack Heuer originally intended. The dial showcases a white finish with a distinctive Clou de Paris texture and uses printed indexes instead of traditional applied markers to evoke a strong stopwatch aesthetic. The racing team's signature red appears on the lacquered hour and minute hands, the central chronograph seconds hand, and the angled date disc at six o'clock.

Powered by the TH20-10 manufacture chronograph calibre, the design notably omits the running seconds display. This specific configuration pays homage to 1960s and 1970s racing chronographs, freeing up valuable dial space for the prominent Team Ikuzawa signature at six o'clock. The fine brushed and polished steel case includes a black flange contrasted by a crisp white minute track, and a polished steel crown featuring a red lacquered ring. On the reverse side, the sapphire crystal caseback displays special engravings for "TEAM IKUZAWA" and "BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT," alongside the individual numbering of the piece out of 150.

Straps and Presentation

The watch comes equipped with three distinct strap options to suit different styles, starting with a signature seven-row steel bracelet featuring alternating brushed and polished finishes. Wearers can easily swap to a perforated white leather strap with red stitching and lining, which is inspired by classic racing gloves, or a white textile strap with red stripes that directly echoes Team Ikuzawa's historic racing livery. Every watch is presented in exclusive packaging inspired by the toolboxes found in racing workshops and pit garages. This set includes the watch, the two additional straps, a travel pouch, and a collection of custom Team Ikuzawa charms designed to accompany keys and personal accessories.
