GPHG 2026 Nominations Are Out: 84 Watches Now Battle For Watchmaking’s Biggest Prize

The first round of voting for the 2026 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has concluded, narrowing an impressive field of 320 timepieces entered by 194 brands down to 84 nominated watches and clocks. Divided across 14 categories, these finalists will now compete for 19 prizes that celebrate the breadth and creativity of contemporary watchmaking, culminating in the industry’s most coveted honour, the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix. The next stage will take place in Geneva, where the 2026 Jury, chaired by Wei Koh, will convene behind closed doors shortly before the awards ceremony. Here, the jurors will physically examine and evaluate all 84 nominated creations. The GPHG Academy will also have a decisive voice in the outcome, with its members participating in a digital vote that represents one-third of the final result.
The winners will be revealed on Saturday, 7 November 2026, during the official GPHG awards ceremony at Geneva’s Bâtiment des Forces Motrices. For collectors and watch enthusiasts around the world, the ceremony will also be livestreamed via the GPHG website, bringing the culmination of the competition to a global audience.
From Geneva to Mumbai: The GPHG Roadshow
But before the trophies are handed out, the nominated watches will embark on their annual global tour. Each autumn, the GPHG takes its finalists on the road, giving collectors, enthusiasts and the wider public the opportunity to see some of the most significant creations of contemporary watchmaking in person.
For India, 2026 marks a particularly significant moment. Mumbai will host the GPHG roadshow from 28 September to 1 October, marking the first time the exhibition has come to India’s financial capital. The stop is being organised in partnership with Ethos Watches, which has previously brought the GPHG exhibition to New Delhi in 2015 and 2022. To know more about the GPHG in India, click here.
From Mumbai, the exhibition moves to Bangkok from 15 to 18 October, where 78 nominated watches will be presented at The Forum cultural centre at Gaysorn Amarin. The Bangkok exhibition also marks the GPHG’s return to Thailand following its first edition there in 2019, once again in partnership with PMT The Hour Glass. The complete collection of 84 nominated timepieces including 78 wristwatches and six mechanical clocks will then arrive in Geneva. From 29 October to 15 November, the city’s Musée d’Art et d’Histoire will host the exhibition, accompanied by a programme of cultural and educational activities designed to bring watchmaking closer to the public and to schools.

London Gets the Winners
The final chapter of the 2026 roadshow will unfold in London from 18 to 23 November. Watches of Switzerland, which has previously partnered with three GPHG exhibitions in New York, will showcase the prize-winning watches from the 2026 edition.
